He has done mission work among Aborigines in Australia, was the founder and director of the Good News Centre that worked with alcoholics in Brisbane, and was the Australian founder and executive director of Teen Challenge in Brisbane.
Dr Ringma has developed drug addiction and social welfare programs including the Good News Centre which worked with alchoholics in South Brisbane and Teen Challenge, a drug rehabilitation programme for youth. Dr Ringma is now retired and continues to serve as an elder for the mission, Servants to Asia's Urban Poor.Charles Ringma was born in The Netherlands and emigrated to Australia when he was 10 years.
